“Show-Me Block & Bridle National Convention”

The University of Missouri- Columbia is honored to be hosting the 2024 National Block and Bridle Convention at the Capital Plaza in Jefferson City, Missouri on April 11-14.

On behalf of the University of Missouri Block and Bridle, welcome to the best of the Midwest! We’re excited to host the 2024 National Block and Bridle Convention. We hope you’ll join us for a fun filled three days of speakers, business sessions, industry tours across the state, entertainment, and more!

The National Convention Committee has been hard at work planning business sessions where we will cover important information and upcoming changes to the National Block and Bridle, along with some fun entertainment and networking opportunities. We are planning this to be a convention packed FULL of industry professionals, growth opportunities, and showcasing the Best of the Midwest!

Missouri Industry Tours

The University of Missouri- Columbia along with other universities from around our state, will be hosting Industry tours showcasing the diversity of agriculture across the state of Missouri. These tours will be split into the four corners of the state, and will focus on the various agricultural sectors in those areas. From the rice producers in the Southeast Corners, to the cow calf operations of the Southwest and other unique adventures.

The Southwest Swing

The Southwest Swing tour will travel to Southwestern Missouri, where agriculture is abundant and multiple sectors are covered including Show Me Genetics, Lost Valley Hatchery, and Carver Farm at Lincoln University. This tour will give you a taste of what Southwestern Missouri has to offer!

Cows, Mares, and Corn Oh My

The Northeast based tour will tour Industry leading Cattle Visions, Sydenstricker Genetics, and Chinn Feedmill all based out of Northern Missouri. We’ll learn more about the diversified agriculture that the Northern portions of the state has to offer.

Ponies and Cheese

We’re lining out tours to include Warm Springs Ranch- Budweiser Clydesdales (still in the works), Hemme Bothers Creamery, and Shatto Dairy. If you’re looking to get a glimpse into Missouri’s unique family creameries, the attraction of our equine industry, and more, then this would be the tour for you!

Research, Exotics, and Wurst

This South Central tour will visit some notable producers in the Ozarks territory. Whether its meats processing, animal science research, or whitetail deer farms, this tour is going to cover some of the more unique aspects of what we have to offer in Mid-MO.

  • 5pm National Delegates Meeting
  • 5pm Pride of Schools (Each school is encouraged to host a booth)
  • 6pm Opening Session & Speaker (Missouri Director of Agriculture Chris Chinn)
  • Explore Jefferson City for Dinner

Friday April 12, 2024

  • Grab and Go Breakfast
  • Block and Bridle Tours
  • 6pm Dinner at Hotel
  • 7:30pm Extemporaneous Speaking Contest
  • 9-11pm DJ and Social Hour at Hotel

Saturday April 13, 2024

  • 7:30-8:30am Breakfast
  • 8:30am-4pm Career Fair
  • 8:30am-12pm Morning Educational Sessions (with break to attend career fair)
  • 12pm-1pm Networking Luncheon with Career Fair Vendors
  • 1-4pm Afternoon Educational Sessions
  • 4-5:30pm Change clothes for dinner and Break
  • 5:30pm Banquet, National Awards, Guest Speaker (Patrick Montgomery, KC Cattle Co.)
  • 8-10pm Live Music
  • 10pm Late Night Pizza Provided
